VISCOSUPPLEMENTATION NEAR ME
PAIN RELIEF + IMPROVED MOBILITY
Viscosupplementation has been FDA approved since 1996. This therapy consists of a series of precision-guided knee joint injections of a viscosupplement. The “visco” cushioning gel is an all-natural replacement for the depleted synovial fluid in your knee joint, and acts as lubricant and shock absorber. Many of our patients feel better shortly after their first therapy.

TYPES OF VISCOSUPPLEMENTS: HA or PRP?
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) might sound strange - but it is a common substance, similar to the one that occurs naturally in the joints. It works by acting like a lubricant and shock absorber in the knee and helps it to work properly. Medicare and most other insurance companies cover this treatment, as it is well known for it's efficacy.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is another option for knee pain relief. It is extremely popular among celebrities and athletes, not only for joint health, but for faster recovery and beauty enhancements. While it is not covered by insurance, research shows it is more effective, and generally provides longer lasting results than HA. If you don't have insurance, or prefer this natural option, PRP may be your ideal solution.

HOW IT WORKS
We inject viscosupplement gel directly into the knee joint, using state of the art guided imaging. The gel acts to replace depleted cartilage in the knee, providing excellent cushioning and shock absorption. By using advanced digital imaging to precisely guide our injections, we remove the guesswork for trustworthy results. Our therapy is a scientifically proven alternative to painful, expensive surgery for many. If you're a candidate, it may alleviate your knee pain.

WHAT TO EXPECT
First, you'll be seated and relax in a plush and comfortable treatment chair. You may request to use the newest model of Oculus VR Goggles to enhance your experience if you have anxiety (or enjoy VR!)

A small bandage will be placed over the injection site when complete. Treatment is fast, completely painless.
You may receive a single treatment or weekly treatments for several weeks depending on your needs, accompanied by physical therapy if needed. Consultations are completely free; if treatment is accepted, insurance may cover treatment completely or may require a copay.

What is Acoustic Sound Wave Therapy (AWT)?Acoustic Sound Wave Therapy or AWT is an appromixately 15-minute non-surgical procedure used to treat chronic plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, tennis elbow, shoulder tendonitis, and other chronic tendinopathies. AWT is used internationally for conditions all over the body. In the United States, an FDA study was performed for patients who suffer from chronic plantar fasciitis with or without the presence of a heel spur. The results were an amazing average reduction in pain of 92% with only one treatment. This data reflects the results of the patients who participated in a one-year follow-up study. AWTbenefits patients because their condition can be treated extracorporeally, meaning outside of the body. Because the treatment is non-invasive, many of the expenses and risks of surgery are eliminated.
-
How safe and effective is AWT?The FDA AWT treatment protocol shows an overwhelming success rate. In the study, a group of 150 patients was asked to rate their pain level on a scale of 1 to 10. The average pain level before treatment was 7.7. After receiving one AWT treatment, the patients were asked one year later to rate their pain level again on a scale of 1 to 10. The patients who reported had an average pain score post-AWTof 0.6. This is a 92% reduction in pain and a much higher rate of success than any non-surgical or surgical procedure. More importantly, AWT is very safe.
-
How does it actually work?AWT accelerates the healing process in the body by stimulating metabolism and enhancing blood circulation to regenerate damaged tissue. Strong accoutic pulses are applied to the affected area. These pulses occur for short periods of time, creating micro bubbles that expand and burst, creating micro-traumas. This penetrates tissue and stimulates cells in the body that are responsible for bone and connective tissue healing.
-
How many treatments are usually needed? The number of sessions needed depends on the condition that is being treated. Each treatment session takes between 10-15 minutes and can vary depending on the condition that is being treated. Consult with our office to learn more about what to expect for your situation.
-
What type of results are expected?Beneficial effects are often experienced after only 1 or 2 treatments. Since there is no downtime, many patients report immediate relief after one treatment. Per clinical studies, this technology has a 91% success rate, and patients report being pain free or having a significant reduction in pain. This non-surgical therapy for pain eliminates pain and restores mobility, thus improving patient’s quality of life.
I have arthritis in both of my knees. I tried cortisone shots, prescribed drugs and even physical therapy over the years with some mild success, but I was still taking pain relievers every day. My doctor said the next step would be surgery, but I knew I could not take the time off of work needed to recover. I felt trapped by the whole situation.
A week later, my friend mentioned a new clinic his daughter was working at and recommended I stop by for a free consultation. I had nothing to lose, so I went, and was amazed! The staff were so professional, and took the time to listen to me. I could tell they really cared. We went over my injuries and treatment options in detail, and I felt good about moving ahead with their suggestions.
After several treatments, I’m now able to walk longer and faster than ever. My inflammation is almost completely gone, and I have no more pain in my knees. I recommend Georgia Health Clinics to everyone I know! Thank you for giving me my life back!
